Blog sources

edit

I've found a blog post which gives her yard number of 677 and details of repairs following the sabotage in 1944. Although not an entirely RS, can we invoke WP:IAR and use the source here? Mjroots (talk)

This blog post gives a date of launch of 6 January 1944. Mjroots (talk) 07:04, 17 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

This blog post gives details of her fate. Mjroots (talk) 07:17, 17 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Coverage

edit

There seem to be a couple of gaps in coverage, on a quick skim-through:

  • The construction and first appearance are a bit detatched. I'm presuming she never left Copenhagen in 1944 before being sabotaged; did anything happen - beyond sitting at a dock being worked on - between then and May 1945? She did manage to get to Lubeck, at least, but it's not clear if there was ever a "real" voyage with cargo.
    • Apparently the ship was refloated and towed to Lübeck where repairs were carried out by Lübecker Flenderwerke (1st blog source above). Mjroots (talk)
  • What was she? We note she was "rebuilt as a training ship and hospital ship", but it's not clear what she was originally built as or used as - a freighter, I assume, but it's not said anywhere. Likewise, what did she do in the Soviet navy?
    • Built as a cargo ship - this in in the infobox. I believe she was a Soviet merchant ship rather than serving in the Soviet Navy (will tweak article to make it clearer that she was built as a cargo ship). Mjroots (talk)
  • Finally, what happened to her? The lead says she's still at Gdynia as a barge; the article says an accomodation hulk at an unspecified port. Shimgray | talk | 12:30, 19 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • Served as an accommodation barge named BK-5, scrapped at Aliaga, Spain in June 1990 (3rd blog source above).Mjroots (talk)
Hopefully that will answer your questions. Mjroots (talk) 04:07, 20 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Looks good! Shimgray | talk | 11:55, 20 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Maybe it will look better once the questions I posed above re the blog source get answered. Mjroots (talk) 12:34, 20 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

B class

edit

I wish the article had more content, but I guess there is not much out there. I am still uneasy as far as the b2 ("Coverage and accuracy") and b5 ("Supporting materials") criteria go, but I guess for a B-class, this can be seen as satisfactory. For a GA, more content would have to be added. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 18:23, 12 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
