Proposed merge of O'Reilly Open Source Award into OSCON
editThere's not much in O'Reilly Open Source Award and hardly any WP:INDEPENDENT sourcing. The whole article should be merged to OSCON which itself is pretty anemic. Toddst1 (talk) 00:04, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
- It obviously doesn't make sense to merge an award article into a disambiguation page. I think you meant to merge to O'Reilly Open Source Convention, which I would support. -- P 1 9 9 ✉ 14:16, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- Reject. A list of awards is a very different topic from a conference. Wikipedia is not short on space, each of these topics has their own merits, and unique contextual in-bound links. Merging a "a list of awards" and a "conference" is non-sensical. Tantek (talk) 07:00, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
- Support the merge to O'Reilly Open Source Convention, as an alternative to deletion (lack of independent reliable sources for the awards) for a lack of independent notability, short text and context. Even the conference itself is of dubious notability, being a commercial activity of O'Reilly Media. The merge would hence to support the case for keeping to conference page, for what seems to be a defunct series. Klbrain (talk) 08:30, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
