NGS elevations
editThere are number of benchmarks on or near the summit of Oat Mountain. The NGS datasheets for these stations all state that they are at the top of the mountain but the elevations given vary. One normally expects the NAVD 88 elevation to be greater than the NGVD 29 elevation yet NAVD 88 elevations for all the benchmarks are less. At these coordinates VERTICON says the difference should be +2.769 feet. So I side steeped the issue by using the NGVD 29 elevation shown on the USGS topographic map and given on the Peakbagger page. droll [chat] 11:08, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
