The immigration of African Americans to Canada at this time was not part of the Great Migration, as that was largely rural blacks from the Deep South moving to Northern and Midwestern industrial cities, especially around the time of the First World War, and through 1940. The families from Oklahoma and Texas may have been trying to leave Jim Crow conditions, but moving to another rural area was not typical.Parkwells (talk) 21:19, 16 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
