Differences
editObsession need not be fixation; nor infatuation, nor besottedness. Variables would seem to be, at least, the number and nature of objects simultaneouslty entertained.
We've got to work out the differences here, folks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.130.41.170 (talk) 03:24, 12 November 2006 (UTC) not mean that they are synonyms. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.186.96.167 (talk) 17:58, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
Entry
editI moved the entry on the alleged psychic phenomenom concerning "evil spirits" away from the psychology section and into "other". The mere fact that the two words start with "psych" does not mean that they are synonyms. Endie (talk) 11:18, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
"Example of this is Evin Saini" - yeah right....who?
editA few google searches reveal that Evin Saini is famous for exactly nothing. OK, I lied, he isn't famous. the only thing that shows up on google is an entry in a social netowrking site, and what looks like an internet forum membership.
So basically it's incredibly obvious that somebody, maybe even Evin him/herself put that in there as a way of calling Mr. (Mrs.?) Saini an obsessive lover. Goes without saying that it shouldn't be there, and if nobody protests in a while (I can never figure out how to flag stuff) I'll remove it myself. -Indalcecio (talk) 14:05, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Thaddeus O'Sullivan film
editThe only mention of this film seems to be Thaddeus O'Sullivan's IMDB page and an two year old announcement that it will be filmed. No cast, pictures, release date or anything of the sort. On Thaddeus O'Sullivan's wiki the movie is mentioned but has 2011 as release year. I will delete it. EllaLM (talk) 17:22, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
General page
editIt seems there should be a general page on obsession to cover this state of mind and how it reveals just how disturbed some people are. Fixation (psychology) and Idée fixe (psychology) don't cut it. GBFEE (talk) 20:54, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
This subset has nothing better to do than obsess over a person. It appears to be the one thing that brings them joy each and every day. Even if they manage to focus on other things. So, so sad. It could make the one being obsessed over feel special, but they shouldn't accept this kind of attention. Anyway, I'll review what I can find on the topic. GBFEE (talk) 21:06, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
