Here are some tasks awaiting attention:
- Article requests : Excessive police force/militarization of police/violation of constitutional rights; Incentive to use stockpiled militarized weapons provided free of charge. (sources); Chilling effect: threat of excessive police force which "bullies or intimidates" protestors from exercising rights (Greenwald 2011); Appropriate use of California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training-Learning Domains 15 (LD15); Five separate investigations: 1) Yudof, president of the University of California system 2) Bratton 3) Cruz Reynoso task force 4) Yolo County District Attorney's Office and Yolo County Sheriff’s Department 5) UC Davis Academic Senate
- Cleanup : Reaction section needs rewrite with a focus on citing notable opinions covered by secondary sources
- Expand : Lundberg v. County of Humboldt precedent, legality and impact on pepper spray incident (sources); 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling—if peaceful protesters weren't in 'active resistance' "then use of pepper spray was excessive" (Canadian Press 2011). Use of pepper spray on peaceful protesters as a torture device in violation of 9th Circuit court decision which said such use was "unreasonable and excessive" (Wheaton 2011); Kamran Loghman maintains that MK-9 was never designed to be used against non-violent, peaceful demonstrators; Political opinions and status, i.e. John Garamendi (D-Fairfield, CA), State Senator Leland Yee, State Attorney General, etc.
- Photo : More free photos needed; Determine status of Louise Macabitas free image; Contact Brian Nguyen (The California Aggie) and ask him if he will donate at least one photo to Wikipedia, for example "Silent protest" needs image
- Update : Background section with improved sources and content about UC Davis (sources)
