Qualifications regarding pressure records

edit

There should be some further information about the pressure records this storm set. It should be clear that this storm DID NOT SET a low pressure record for the Continental United States. It did set a record for lowest pressure recorded away from either West or East Coast within the continental US. However, it is misleading and indeed factually incorrect to state that this storm broke the record for lowest pressure ever recorded in the continental US, when unequivocal evidence exists to the contrary. Please see below:

Not sure if these would be redundant, so I'll list them here.

Working On Severe Weather Outbreak

edit

I'm working on the Severe Weather Outbreak tab. Referring to a meteorologist with the NWS and data from the Storm Prediction Center. --Press208 (talk) 00:54, 1 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Scratch that, my bad. I've been busy, so someone else can write it. --Press208 (talk) 03:42, 16 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Most intense extratropical cyclone?

edit

This system may have been dethroned. At landfall in the U.S. Hurricane Sandy was post-tropical. I would have to find a source for it, but if I recall correctly, Sandy had a pressure of either 940 or 946mb at landfall in New Jersey. Or does Sandy count differently since it had transitioned from a tropical cyclone? TornadoLGS (talk) 19:09, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Meteorological synopsis

edit

This section is only citing impacts: lowest pressure, snow amounts, etc... There should be an explanation of the origins and path of the storms. The rest should be moved into an "Impacts" section.
