Change focus of article
editI was thinking that maybe it would be better if we changed the title of this article to something like 2022 Northwest Europe tornado outbreak and then cover all of the tornadoes which occurred in France and England on 23/10/22. greyzxq talk 10:58, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- I completely agree, as the outbreak itself was fairly notable, and there's not enough info or substance to justify a page on just the Bihucourt tornado alone. TornadoInformation12 (talk) 04:09, 29 October 2022 (UTC)
- I personally think this tornado is more notable that the rest by far, so why not make it similar to the 2021 South Moravia tornado? That also includes the other tornadoes, but keeps the main tornado the title. The record-setting EF3 is obviously the main tornado, but the others are also notable. - Eh, it could stand to mention the other tornadoes at least. We have that setup for a few events where one tornado stands well above the rest in terms of notability. That said, I haven't really looked closely at this event. TornadoLGS (talk) 04:40, 29 October 2022 (UTC)
- I think just mirroring the South Moravia tornado article will work fine as well. As long as the other tornadoes from this outbreak are listed.

- After looking at the South Moravia tornado, it seems that this tornado and outbreak aren't notable enough for their own article at all, considering only one person was injured and there aren't sources which describe extreme damage (correct me if I'm wrong). Obviously, the record-setting tornado is notable, but I think a mention in Weather of 2022#Tornadoes is sufficient, and if there's an article about France's weather/climate/weather events then a mention there would be good too. Still, if this subject is deemed notable then having it similar to the 2022 South Moravia tornado article would be good, only with a bit more detail on the other articles than just a table. greyzxq talk 12:33, 29 October 2022 (UTC)
I'm fine with just getting rid of the article if everyone else is. I can put together a summary in the October section of the main 2022 page that will still cover everything thoroughly. TornadoInformation12 (talk) 02:38, 31 October 2022 (UTC)TornadoInformation12
- I'm personally against fully getting rid of the article. Four significant tornadoes in France with one of those setting a national record seems notable enough for an article (even if it is start/C class in the end). If others really want the focus to be more like an outbreak article (under 2022 Northwest Europe tornado outbreak), I would cave to that. But for sure, the article focus needs to either be the outbreak name or similar to the South Moravia tornado article. Elijahandskip (talk) 02:46, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- I'm also fine with doing that. I know I'm not being too helpful lol. How about lets just change it to "October 23, 2022 European Tornado Outbreak" as the month has to be in the title.

- Technically it doesn't have to be unless other notable tornadoes/tornado outbreaks have occurred in the region that year (example 2022 Russia–Ukraine tornado outbreak). But that name works since France has had other tornadoes that are notable this year. Elijahandskip (talk) 02:53, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- I think that "October 2022 European tornado outbreak", "October 2022 Northwest European tornado outbreak" or just "2022 Northwest European tornado outbreak" (like Elijahandskip said) would be suitable titles. greyzxq talk 16:11, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- I strongly suggest we keep the month in the title but yeah lets go ahead and do it.

- The tornado by itself is not notable enough to get an article and honestly, I don't even know if an article on the entire event is needed either. I was honestly surprised that the 2022 Russia–Ukraine tornado outbreak article was even made to begin with, but it is what it is. Regardless, more info is needed here for an article to be justified. - Not that it matters, because seems to be a general (weak) consensus that we can have an outbreak article, but the EF3 was expanded to 90 mile track, which is like 2x the previous tornado track record in France. I’ll start working expanding the article and scope to the outbreak today and tomorrow. Elijahandskip (talk) 17:39, 1 November 2022 (UTC)

New Milton is not a tornado
editChecking the citations there is no record of this tornado. "The Met Office has since confirmed it was not considered to be an official tornado but could have been a "funnel" cloud." https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/23073612.tornado-causes-havoc-ripping-off-roofs-bringing-trees/ Suggest deletion. - Funnel clouds don't cause damage to anything apart from the very top of some trees. TORRO confirmed a long discontinuous T4/F2 track starting at Barton on Sea/New Milton, and ending in the New Forest. EuropeanXTwisters (talk) 12:28, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
