I have excised two pragraphs that seemed to repeat almost verbatum two earlier paragraphs.
Positions
editThis information is relevant and important, as the opinions and outlook of the co-founder and dean (Rosh Yeshiva) demonstrate the type of Jewish philosophy and sect of this organization.Mrnhghts (talk) 04:44, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
- Not revelant because they are merely stories that prove what YOU think. They are not relevant to his person. There is not source for your statement that his "positions are in-line with Israel's non-Chassidic right-wing ultra-Orthodox leaders." your sources merely confirm his belief in the stories which have no baring on his article W4uncw (talk) 17:52, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
No problem, took out the commentary, and just left his positions.Mrnhghts (talk) 20:40, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
- This entry is totally irrelevant i totally agree with W4 Nogrudges (talk) 01:01, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Please see above explanation. Information you don't like doesn't make it irrelevant.Mrnhghts (talk) 02:58, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
See what W4 wrote, agree with him. This just plain isnt relevant! Nogrudges (talk) 03:07, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
I took out my interpretation. This is exactly the sort of censorship you displayed claiming Baruch Lanner's history wasn't "relevant." Stop censoring.Mrnhghts (talk) 03:35, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
I agree that the opinions of the head of the Yeshiva are not relevant in this article about the Yeshiva. Happy138 (talk) 07:50, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
These "opinions" were published on the yeshiva's site, ohr.edu, as I referenced. So they are not just his private opinions.Mrnhghts (talk) 15:04, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- They may be his opinions and completely accurate it doesn't mean they are relevant. Can a Wikieditor come and take care of this foolishness. There are more then enough of us that agree that is not relevant 96.232.246.207 (talk) 15:25, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
A campaign of censorship is raging on this page, including anonymous vandalism.Mrnhghts (talk) 15:31, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
This is not censorship this is making sure you stay true to a good wikipedia. This information is not relevant no matter how much you want it to be. What YOU are doing is vandalism!!! 96.232.246.207 (talk) 15:34, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
THERE now im not anonymous anymore (this is 96.232) Truism422 (talk) 15:39, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Give him a few minutes this will be up on his blog screaming CENSORSHIP! CENSORSHIP! We got it. Because some people here are trying to follow the wiki rules and only keep RELEVANT info on this page, its censorship. But if someone (like me) wants to put your name on your page its "HARASSMENT!!! How dare he reveal that im biased!!" Nogrudges (talk) 15:43, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- I CALLED IT!!! http://kvetcher.net/2009/03/2798/vandalism-on-ohr-somayachs-wikipedia-page/ Nogrudges (talk) 15:55, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Which Orthodox email list did you get these new "editors"?Mrnhghts (talk) 16:18, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- Enough is enough my friend. Please stop this edit war, as I wrote on your talk page. It has been reported here. Happy138 (talk) 16:21, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- See! He just thinks its a vast conspiracy against him. He refuses to admit maybe he is wrong! Truism422 (talk) 16:20, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
That there is a campaign of Orthodox Jews who will do everything they can to remove information they consider unflattering towards the Kiruv recruitment (recruitment of non-Orthodox Jews to Orthodoxy) is nothing personal, nor is it a conspiracy. Rather, it is quite blatant.Mrnhghts (talk) 20:21, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Let's take these on at a time.
It is painful to see the gradual corrosion of Jewish tradition in secular Israel as evidenced by the proliferation of shopping centers operating on Shabbat and the recent controversy over official permission to sell chametz on Pesach.[1]
This is important, as it reveals what relationship between Jewish law and the public space Rabbi Weinbach seeks for the state of Israel. Weinbach seeks to ban the sale of Chametz -- leavened goods which are banned by Jewish law on Pesach -- by businesses in the State of Israel.Mrnhghts (talk) 18:22, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
Rabbi Weinbach endorsed a haredi man's claim that the Russian-Georgian war was ended because of a blessing to the prime minister by Rabbi Yehuda Leib Steinmen, a leader of the non-chasidic haredi world in Israel.[2] However, this story had already been proven false weeks before by the prime minister before Ohr Somayach's publication of this story.[3] This is important, as it illustrates the miraculous power believed to be held by the leadership clergy of the ultra-Orthodox world by Ohr Somayach.Mrnhghts (talk) 19:25, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
- True or not, ITS NOT RELEVANT!!!Nogrudges (talk) 21:11, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Please explain how a leader of an institution, who writes on his site that he wants to enforce Jewish law through the state, is not relevant to information on that institution. Please explain, do not just use caps after screaming that "IT'S NOT RELEVANT!!!!!"Mrnhghts (talk) 22:02, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
- you are missing the point. I dont have to explain how its not relevant you have to explain why it is to keep it in. Also, Israel is not America. It is BASED on religion. Its not so weird to want enforcement of Jewish law through the state. Its done every day in Israel. Stop imposing your American values on a country that's not America Mr. Bush, I mean Mrhghts. Nogrudges (talk) 03:07, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
That's exactly the point. There are different points of view in Israel, and even different points of view within Orthodoxy in Israel. Not all Orthodox Jews want to impose Jewish law upon the public space. That Rabbi Weinbach does is notable. Please stop your name calling of "Mr. Bush." This is childish, and truly not relevant.Mrnhghts (talk) 04:10, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
Inappropriate editing
editI'm concerned about an inappropriate edit that caught my attention earlier. As per convention (Wikipedia:Ethical Code for Wikipedians) and policy (WP:CONFLICT), it is inappropriate for a person to edit material which directly concerns them. Therefore, I'm going to revert and then improve the text removed in this edit. It just so happens that the text isn't stylistically up to snuff (according to WP:Style), but it is still inappropriate for it to have been edited the way that it was. --yonkeltron (talk) 21:00, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
