I have copyedited the introductory section, Life and Works. I didn't change anything much, just a few grammar fix-ups and added some more relevant links to other Wikipedia articles. before I get around to copyediting the rest of the article - are the reproduced poems towards the bottom a potential copyvio problem? QuietWikipedian 01:13, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- I've added English translations of titles, and some more information on his works from this site: http://www.kultur.gov.tr/EN/BelgeGoster.aspx?17A16AE30572D313B6B8DA541AA02A119837F9A3538A2623 which is as good an English-language resource on Oktay Rifat as I've found. I'll leave this page alone for a while and give someone else a chance to look over it and respond before I remove the poems as a potential copyvio problem (as discussed here). It seems to me they could stay IF there was some balancing text explaining the significance of that particular poem, to justify Fair Use. But that needs someone much better versed in Turkish lit than me. QuietWikipedian 21:17, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- Me again. I've had clarification here that the poems are a copyvio problem, so removed them. QuietWikipedian 21:32, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- But in general it is considered OK to reproduce one stanza of a long poem, or a few lines of a short one--and I would suggest doing so , in order for readers to have some idea what the subject has actually written. Even a few lines give a feel--and --at least if its in Roman script, the Turkish also gives an idea of the nature of the verse. DGG (talk) 04:27, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
