The result of the move request was: page moved to Old Custom House, Montreal. This was the last suggestion and is a standard way to disambiguate, especially if the building is called Old Custom House. Vegaswikian (talk) 01:12, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
Old Custom House → Old Montreal Custom House – Request move of page as this is not clear wp:PRIMARYUSAGE for the phrase, and set up redirect from "Old Custom House" to the combo dab page Old Customshouse which covers several variations. There is another place named exactly "Old Custom House" in Yorktown, Virginia, dating from 1721. No one of the many places would be recognized as world-wide importance. Other variations used in redirects to the Montreal page, such as Old Customs House (Montreal), Custom House, Montreal, or Old Customs House (Montreal) would also be fine for move targets for the Montreal page, too. My point is to vacate the "Old Custom House" location for it to be the main dab location or for it to redirect to the main dab now at Old Customshouse. --doncram 01:51, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
- Move - I agree with your reasoning. --MTLskyline (talk) 02:11, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
- Support. Yes please! Let's have more of these qualifiers, which immediately help the readers and whose absence helps no one at all, anywhere. There are old customs houses (or custom houses) all over the place. (They're easy to find on Google, like this one, or this one.) It is ridiculous to imagine that in a worldwide readership only the ones with current WP articles are being sought. NoeticaTea? 03:49, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
- Move, but to Old Custom House, Montreal. The space vacated should then be used for a dab page, or becme a redirect to a dab page, listing all Old Custom(s) House articles. I expect there are quite a number to be listed. Peterkingiron (talk) 17:16, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

No consensus to move to parenthetical titles. After much-extended time for discussion, there is no consensus for a move to parenthetical titles at this time. I have moved the four that were unnecessarily disambiguated. BD2412 T 04:50, 16 May 2021 (UTC)

– Putting the disambiguator in parentheses for these places, as is standard. 162.208.168.92 (talk) 03:32, 17 April 2021 (UTC) —Relisting. ~ Aseleste (t, e | c, l) 14:53, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose isn't comma disambiguation standard for buildings per WP:PLACE? Crouch, Swale (talk) 07:46, 17 April 2021 (UTC)
- WP:PLACE is for geographic names, not buildings or landmarks. That's why we have, for example, Law Courts (Vancouver), Olympic Stadium (Montreal), CN Tower (Edmonton), etc. 162.208.168.92 (talk) 14:42, 17 April 2021 (UTC)
- Parenthetical disambiguation is often seen as standard for North America, but not for other countries. Comma disambiguation is standard for Commonwealth countries other than Canada. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:24, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

- Oppose I randomly looked at only one case and immediately saw an issue. Molson Bank Building, Montreal requires no disambiguation at all and should be at Molson Bank Building. How many others are like that? That needs to be sorted out first. Among those that need disambiguation I'm not sure parenthetical disambiguation is preferred over comma disambiguation. So that needs some examination as well, per the above discussion. Until these issues are resolved I cannot support. --В²C ☎ 19:55, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
- An excellent point. I've struck out part of this request. The struck articles should uncontroversially be moved to the base name as unambiguous. 162.208.168.92 (talk) 15:42, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
- Yes those that don't need disambiguation should be moved to the base name instead. Crouch, Swale (talk) 16:23, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
