Old Camp Uwharrie
editI would really like to see some information on the 200-acre Old Camp Uwharrie located near Jamestown, NC and Greensboro, NC. Now it is a housing development with the entrance at Akela Trail and Guilford College Road. I can't find much information on it but I seem to recall it being the oldest scout camp in the country until it closed around 1993. I think the times I was there I was still only a Cub Scout. This may not be the best article to put it but I think it should be discussed somewhere. Fsamuels 20:12, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, that would be a great addition, but I do not know enough about it, only rumors and stories. I've found very few links on the subject since it was decommissioned prior to the internet age. Here's a few though: Old Hickory Club (small mention), High Point (location of Uwharrie), (SR-7B history (one fact), Small reference to waterfront director at uwharrie (very small), A forum (very helpful- gives camp song). Woodfield Section's Grammer
editLooks like there is a grammar issue in the part about camp Woodfield. It says, "The raise the funds to cover its contribution, the Old North State Council divested for Woodfield Scout Preservation in January 2022."
