Old Order and Conservative Mennonite Groups
editThis article could benefit a lot from the content in Stephen Scott's 1995 survey of 'old fashioned' Mennonite groups. He shows the distinct Old Order groups in detail, explains their historical roots, and distinguishes them from other Conservative Mennonite Movement groups that have Amish roots. It is also an interesting book that makes these people come alive with pictures which might be valuable here too. Anacapa 05:55, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
Dispute tag
editWell, there is a dispute tag on this article, but nothing on the talk page. Any reason why this shouldn't be promptly removed? Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 19:43, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- I removed it. If there is some that is disputed, please put it back on and post on the talk page. Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 18:05, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
not very helpful
editThe lede says Although the term strictly refers to one particular group but then totally fails to define that group. Who are the OOM, where do they live, how many are there, and how do they differ from other horse and buggy Mennonites and Amish? Is there any theological belief they hold that is different than other M groups? Sorry to be such a nag but this article is pretty vague. Nitpyck (talk) 16:57, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

editI don't know how much of this article is copied from sources - without any citation either - but I found a large section in Beliefs and practices that is just copied from http://www.gutenberg.us/articles/eng/Old_Order_Mennonites
I will paraphrase that content in my edit and add the citation. However, I may not finish all of that this morning. AND there may be many other areas of this article that are copied from various sources. Peter K Burian (talk) 14:24, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
