This article was created by long-term user Wikid77 (me), on 18 September 2011, to show the Old Style calendar for a common year starting on Monday, March 25. The calendar spans beyond December to include the next January and February, and ends with the next March (on March 24). -Wikid77 (talk) 15:41, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Purpose

edit

The intent of this article is to show the related Old Style calendar for years which began on 25 March, such as during 1550-1751 in England (and Wales) and the American colonies. Scotland changed the start of the new year to 1 January in 1600, but other countries continued starting the new year on 25 March.

The related articles are intended to show all Old Style calendars for common years, starting on each of the 7 days of the week:

This article is the first to be created, to consider the general layout of how the 7 articles should be formatted. The equivalent article for the New Style calendar is for Tuesday:

However, the New-Style calendar articles do not show both the first and last month of March, as in the Old Style calendar. Hence, separate articles are needed to show the extra month of March of the Old Style. -Wikid77 (talk) 15:41, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
