Name?

edit

I wonder whether the names "Tom Puss" and "Oliver B. Bumble" really are the most well-known in English. They are the names used in the Swedish translation, but I'm not sure if they have appeared in any official English translation. Could they be OR? 惑乱 分からん * \)/ (\ (< \) (2 /) /)/ * (talk) 13:30, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Use Google, and you soon find out that these are not OR, for example there is a cartoon movie in English using the names Bumble and tom Puss here: [1] so it seems the name is official.
One site claims "Oliver B. Bumble was translated in 20 different languages and in every country his name was different. Below you'll find a short list:"
Denmark, Norway: Teddy Bjørn
England: Oliver B. Bumble
France: Monsieur Bommel
Germany: Herr Bummel
the Netherlands: Olivier B. Bommel
Spain: Olivero B. Bomel
Sweden: Oliver B. Bumble
And indeed in an article about the death of maarten toonder, these names are also listed. [2] Mahjongg (talk) 16:23, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hmmmm, yeah, apparently so. I was worried, maybe the comic was translated to English before Swedish, and someone thought the English namessounded exotic and British or something. (The comic has some older European feel to it.) Thanks. 惑乱 分からん * \)/ (\ (< \) (2 /) /)/ * (talk) 13:19, 18 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
