What's not neutral about this article?
edit@Melcous Good to see that you worked on my new article. However, I’d like to call your attention to some areas:
Can you explain what is non-neutral about this article? I think that’s what the guideline on this COI tag says.
Two, as part of the notability, more citations from journals and online publications have also been added. I think it’s safe to remove the Notability tag now, right?
A quick search for Oluwole Adereogba Olaniyi on Google shows that the subject is an academic in Nigeria and meets the notability guidelines.
Thank you. Opyquad (talk) 12:02, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- Opyquad, the first maintenance template is about Conflict of interest. Do you have a connection to the subject of this article? (Noting that you have uploaded the photo of them as your own work) On notability, please read WP:NACADEMIC and then if you can outline here which of those specific guidelines you are suggesting the subject meets and why that would be really helpful. Thank you Melcous (talk) 19:58, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Melcous This is not the first photo I uploaded as my own since I'm a freelance photographer and writer. Oooooh, I guess that's why I keep getting similar review and flags by editor/reviewer. I have no connection with the subject. As for notability, I have added more citations including journals where I found works of the subject. I think we are still on the same page. - Opyquad, taking the subject's photograph suggests you have at least met them, which is not the same as "no connection with the subject". Please read the WP:COI policy carefully and make the appropriate disclosures. Melcous (talk) 20:33, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Melcous He is an acquaintance. Opyquad (talk) 06:44, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Ok, thank you Opyquad. You should follow WP:COIDISCLOSE and you should use the article talk page to request changes rather than directly editing from here on. And that would be the same for any other articles where you know the subject. Melcous (talk) 10:58, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Melcous I made my first edit on Wikipedia towards the end of August this year. I might not be familiar with all the rules 100%, but I believe Wiki is also a learning platform. I will make the disclosure on the talk page and leave the article for a completely neutral editor. Could you also make contribution on the article for deletion for the article: [1] Thank you.
