Deletion
editI disagree with deleting this article - but I think it should be merged INTO some sort of bartending article. --189.148.17.173 20:06, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- There is already a [wiktionary entry] for 'on the rocks', references to it can be added to drinks related wikipedia articles. In it's current state, this article doesn't really add much to the wiktionary entry, so, unless you (or anyone else) objects I will re-nominate this article for deletion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ζεύς (talk • contribs) 20:42, 1 January 2007
- As per the deletion policy, I created a soft redirect to the wiktionary article for On the rocks. Ζεύς 22:15, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
Straight up
editOn this page it says "Straight up" means no ice, yet on the other article page it says it's with ice. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straight_up_%28bartending%29 195.137.64.249 (talk) 22:31, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

On the rocks → On the rocks (disambiguation) On the Rocks – This phrase has a clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, which is the way of serving a drink. The other topics clearly derive their names from that meaning. The base lowercase name should be a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT to bartending terminology. —BarrelProof (talk) 03:31, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
- Suggestion above amended after remark by BD2412 below. —BarrelProof (talk) 19:03, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose WP:NOTDIC -- the disambiguation page already provides the information, so even if it were "primary" the information is located here as well. -- 70.51.46.11 (talk) 06:36, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
- Support redirecting this title to bartending terminology, but move the page to On the Rocks, per WP:DIFFCAPS; all titles on the page except the common usage have "Rocks" capitalized. bd2412 T 13:30, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
- That seems like a good suggestion to me. In title case, it primarily is a composition title or a proper name (e.g., the name of a band or radio station or television show), whereas in lowercase, it is overwhelmingly an idiom in bartending terminology. —BarrelProof (talk) 16:19, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
- Support I'll drink to that! (and per logical comments). Randy Kryn 19:21, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
- Support per BD2412 and following that suggestion. Red Slash 07:34, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
- Strong support. Clearly a primary topic. I've never even heard of most of the other meanings. JIP | Talk 21:57, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
