Need lots more on each of the programmes.Danj205 01:39, 23 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please post to the bottom (preferbly under a seperate heading) as is the norm on wikipedia (for good reason). Nil Einne 15:13, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Started on the history, however it is very mixed. Also, it might be nice to separate those names in the Personalities list a little, into "Presenters," "Reporters." Some of those names I don't think belong in there either (such as Kevin Milne) needs more research though. Danj205 11:38, 18 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

The John Hawkesby page and the [1] page appear to suggest John was kicked out of 3 News (and then joined ONE News). Is that correct or is this article and the 3 News article correct which suggests he was hired away from 3 News? Nil Einne 15:08, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yes, John quit 3 News as he preferred to work as a solo newsreader and not as a duo, oddly enough he returned to host One News, co-hosting. Collaborate 03:19, 20 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Tonight

edit

There was a change to put Sacha Mcneil in there as host of Tonight. I understood that Kate Hawkesby was only on maternity leave and would return, hence I've changed it to that.

Fair use rationale for Image:Tvnz oldonenewslogo.JPG

edit

Image:Tvnz oldonenewslogo.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Hi. I am considering commencing a cleanup of this article, and I was just wondering are the masses of redlinks in the staff section needed? If articles were created, I daresay many of them would fail to meet Wikipedia's notability criteria. After all, they are essentially just employees of a company. Would there be opposition to the removal of the staff section (ie here)? -- THE DARK LORD TROMBONATOR 08:03, 14 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree, many of the redlinks could be delinked. Some of the news presenters should stay as redlinks because they are likely to eventually have articles, but it's a judgement call as to which ones. Be bold!-gadfium 09:06, 1 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I have tried to delete the red links, I agree that has to be done but I don't think the whole section should be deleted.Tshiels1 (talk) 08:48, 13 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Merger

edit

I can't see a lot of value in having the articles on ONE News Tonight ONE News at 4:30 and ONE News at Midday separate from this one. They're all the product of ONE News, just airing at different times and with different presenters. Merging them into this article would solve the notability templates that two of them have already attracted. Sources will still be needed.-gadfium 09:06, 1 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree with the proposed merger - I didn't even know the pages existed! If there are no objections in the near future, then I (or you) will merge the pages. -- THE DARK LORD TROMBONATOR 10:01, 1 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I can merge them into the One News page now. However, I am not sure how to delete the pages so someone else will need to come on and do that. - Johnsonvilleline —Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnsonvilleline (talkcontribs) 00:55, 9 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

All pages have been redirected to the appropriate sections. There was no content in the articles that wasn't in the main article, but that section needs one hell of a clean up. Guess I'll start now. -- THE DARK LORD TROMBONATOR 05:17, 9 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Old News logos

edit

I have a complete set of old One News titles (only as stills) from 1987 to 2006 that I could upload in place of Tvnz_oldonenewslogo.JPG (only has logos from 1996-2006).

I will upload it soon unless anyone has any objections.

New articles

edit

Cameron Bennett and Greg Boyed should probably all have pages. NZI Business could have a section in the Breakfast article, I don't know. I could begin these articles and then they will hopefully transform into good articles. Would they be notable?Tshiels1 (talk) 23:31, 30 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Update I have created NZI Business and Eye to Eye with Willie Jackson.Tshiels1 (talk) 04:08, 16 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

News readers

edit

The presenters of the news are actually news readers. They can perhaps be called presenters as well. But they are not "anchors" - that is a rather different American creature. The One News presenters are not "anchors".Royalcourtier (talk) 04:39, 12 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

sponsors

edit

It would be fascinating to document past sponsors. I'm afraid I have no info to offer, however. 161.29.214.195 (talk) 07:09, 5 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Italics?

edit

I don't understand why the page title is italicised. TV programmes are, as I understand, never italicised, or am I wrong. Regards, MattSucci (talk) 10:57, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

1 News1News – The company does not use a space when referring to itself, e.g. [2][3][4]. Independent sources also do not use a space, e.g. [5]. ―Panamitsu (talk) 21:36, 11 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Support That's certainly correct; surprising that nobody has brought this up before. The target destination is currently a redirect; that can be replaced by a hatnote. Schwede66 08:18, 12 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Support Article needs to reflect both its official and most-commonly used names. This would involve clearing the 1News link since that is presently occupied by another article. Since that link was previously occupied by 1News (Malaysia), would 1News (New Zealand) be a better option? See the One News disambiguation page.Andykatib, 07:55, 15 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
