Move to Onion Lake Cree Nation?
editPrior to my recent edit, this article appeared to be about the Onion Lake Cree Nation as a whole, which consists of two reserves (Makaoo and Seekaskootch). The "community" of Onion Lake (coined an "unincorporated area" by NRCan in the CGNDB) within the greater Cree Nation community is located on the Saskatchewan side of Makaoo. The article is still about the Cree Nation after the revamp, but now includes a brief section for this lower level of geography (Onion Lake, Saskatchewan now redirects to this section).
Based on this, any concerns about moving the article to Onion Lake Cree Nation? All redirects would be revised to reflect the move. Hwy43 (talk) 02:57, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- This article was originally about the unincorporated community, and located at Onion Lake, Saskatchewan. It was expanded by an IP, I'm assuming a local, adding the statement "Onion Lake is the only reserve located on either side of Saskatchewan/Alberta border". I explored the community's website, http://www.onionlake.ca/, to see that the community considers itself to be on both sides of the border, and moved it to Onion Lake, after the Lloydminster example, and as part of the WP:CANLIST initiative. You have now expanded it to be primarily about the Cree Nation, made up of the two reserves. In this state I believe that the article's title is best Onion Lake Cree Nation. And that because the information on the Nation, the two reserves, and the unincorporated area, is short, they should remain merged together. I also believe that other First Nation settlements should be merged into their respective reserve or Nation article, but that's a discussion for another day. 117Avenue (talk) 21:38, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for administering the move. Hwy43 (talk) 04:19, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
