About 1957 Onomichi Sightseeing boat disaster
editI will remove some less notable or unsourced events from the list and put them here. Feelfree to discuss. I have rough criteria in mind, but typing them would be too long. The years are missing from the copied elements.
A sightseeing boat Kitagawa Maru Five, carrying 236 people, with exceeded three times a ship capacity, which left Ikuchi Island, following capsized in Island Sea, on April 12, 1957. Resulting to death toll of 113 people, injures 49. Consider adding mention of a recent novel
editFour Seasons in Japan a recent novel in English by Nick Bradley largely takes place in Onomichi. The city and its features is tantamount to an independent character in this captivating story within a story about a novel within a novel. Well worth mentioning.
