Ultimate Onslaught
editUltimate X-Men #92 depicts Xavier returning from Cable's future in a Magneto/Onslaught looking suit of battle armor. Most notably, he has glowing red eyes on the cover. Would it be fair to call this version of Xavier "Ultimate Onslaught", or at least a reference thereto? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.173.249.8 (talk) 03:15, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Deleted the "Morrison/Millar created Onslaught" tripe; it's widely known that Scott Lobdell and Mark Waid were the ones who created Onslaught; Lobdell came up with the name and the power level threat of the character while Waid was the one who came up with the idea of him being the bastard psychic spawn of Magneto and Xavier. Beginning this discussion page as this article has been tagged for copyedit for over a week. I've done a pass at the "character history" section to reduce storytelling rhetoric into a more factual exposition (e.g. removed unneeded references to character motivation as well as repetitive statements). "Onslaught Saga"?
editWhere does this term come from? --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 12:31, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- Dunno. From what I recall it was simply called "Onslaught"
- Something I want to bring up. "Onslaught" was a mess and there should be more of a creative focus to showcase that. Reading through the indexes at TheXAxis.com, Paul O'Brien points out they came up with the idea for the story before they had even settled on who the character was and what his objectives were. And then it was shoehorned in to being a part of "Heroes Reborn". It was being made up as they went along. In fact "Road to Onslaught" doesn't clarify the character's objectives at all, because it bears little relation to the finalized plot in the stories. It's no wonder Scott Lobdell has referred to the entire thing as "A work in progress". WesleyDodds 12:37, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- He was all magneto "take over the humans" at first, then he was all "everybody's going down". Fairly simple i felt. Also, major cosmic x-men storylines seem to get tagged with saga, ala dark phoenix, but i really recall it being referred to as this in Wizard.WookMuff 21:03, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- I worked in a comics store, so I read the whole thing, but even now, Onslaught's goal is murky to me. People on Wikipedia like to add "Saga" to stuff. Oh, I'm uploading that Xorn picture right now. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 12:42, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Marvel Legends depiction
editI recently started collecting Marvel Legends figures, due to my childhood love of the X-men cartoon and a few comics here and there. I am in no way an authority or a scholar, however. Thus, the inclusion of Onslaught confused me, seeing as how he was given build-a-character status next to Apocalypse, Sentinel, Giant Man, and Galactus. Finding this page was incredible, and gave quite a bit more value to the Onslaught figure in my mind, especially considering it is considerably smaller than the other build-a-character sets.
With that said, it might be worthwhile to include a section on the Marvel Legends depiction (I assume it is of Onslaught's second form), as well as its artistic basis. Personally, I'm quite intruiged to learn why Onslaught's depiction is almost insect-like, especially in the face. Luckily, this article has gone a long way to explaining why his face is metallic for me. Athenor 04:13, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
The iluminatti mini series has shownXavier to acess the Mind gem, a gem that symbolizes the collective thoughts of reality, how this is tied into onslaught has not yet been revealed but fan speculation has increased over the connection of the onslaught appeareance and the mind gem.
Onslaught Reborn
editHow many issues of this comic have been released? Where are all these plot summaries from and are they accurate? Am I the only one who thinks that this contradicts everything that happened in heroes return, the Heroes Reborn One-shots, and Fantastic Four #25-28 and that years ff annual? WookMuff 10:36, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
There are suppose to be four issues, with the current Onslaught Reborn sunmmary only describing the first two. I have the first two issues, and I tried to correct inaccurate summaries, but it's been a long time since my last edit and I've pretty much given up with bothering with it. Personally, I don't think they did a very good job with this as an event that chronologically predates Civil War, and for some reason, the last two issues have suffered significant delays and shortages. If my local dealer is correct, then the lateness is attributed to the issue simply not making the deadline. ULTRAZORD 22:35, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

"Cliffnotes" section?
editI dunno, doesn't seem wiki-ish to me. A lot of slang, not much fact, and a lot of speculation/discussion. Don't get me wrong, I found it amusing (saved it to my hard drive and all) but I'm not sure it belongs there.

- Done. Not sure what has happened here but the article seems to have disappeared [4]. Coverage is poor and poorly referenced. I can't, in good conscience even give this a C. (Emperor (talk) 19:24, 23 October 2008 (UTC))
Everything needs to be redone in the historical present tense
editYes and unfortunately it's a lot of work to convert everything and may require a lot of work to do it all. Might need to get reworded as well.Reijiro (talk) 19:41, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
