Opel Manta in UK
editThe Opel Manta was never badged as a Vauxhall. True, there was a Vauxhall Cavalier coupe and 'Sportshatch', which used the same bodyshells, but those were dropped in 1981, the same year in which Opel dealerships merged with Vauxhall ones. The Manta was the last car to be sold as an Opel in the UK, when it was dropped in 1988. (The Senator was rebadged as a Vauxhall in 1984, but the Monza remained an Opel until it was dropped two years later.)
This site has the history of the Manta, and the Cavalier equivalents. Quiensabe 20 Jan 2005 17:02
Shinjin Royale
editThere seems to be some confusion regarding the Shinjin Royale, Saehan Rekord Royale, Daewoo Royale, Daewoo Prince, Daewoo Royale Duke, Royale XQ, and Daewoo Imperial. These were all based on the Opel Rekord/Commodore, in spite of what the German editors say on their Wikipedia page. The Opel Ascona was never built in Korea. I have removed all the offending references. ⊂ Mr.choppers ⊃ (talk) 21:08, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

WRC Victories
editThe Lancia 037 article (and top gear) claim that the Lancia 037 was the last RWD victor in WRC - maybe this needs to be reworded? In 1983, Audi won drivers champ, but Lancia won the constructors champ... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.148.112.105 (talk) 23:53, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
- [[Unsigned]], the statement about the Opel Ascona is actually correct. While the Lancia 037 was indeed the last RWD car to win the the world constructors championship in 1983[1], the world drivers championship that year was won by Hannu Mikkola who was driving an Audi Quattro A1/A2[1]. The last victor of the world drivers championship in a RWD car was Walter Röhrl in 1982 who was driving an Opel Ascona 400[2]--51.199.111.229 (talk) 19:32, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
