Notability Clarification
As suggested by user "intgr" above, I am providing more sources documenting notability. This section is a bit lengthy, but I thought this I'd provide a solid base for judgment. :-)
It is probably reasonable to limit this discussion to the talk page and not try to add all such references to the article just to demonstrate notability (the guideline says that “existence is required, not immediate citation”). I as a COI person also feel more on the safe side this way, not suggesting all that positive content to the article itself.
I’m now going to supply the following types of resources to support your and others’ judgment about notability:
- Online coverage in respected, well-known media sources
- References in print media
- References in scientific work (theses)
- Sources documenting that OpenUI5 is a well-discussed and important topic in the software development community
For the moment I’ll just list the links here without turning them into fully qualified ref links and without supplying content referencing them, but they can later be properly integrated into the article where appropriate.

4. Importance in the software development community (these points are “soft” by nature and sound of course very much like an advertisement, so I would never propose them for the article, but I feel they are still helpful to judge the notability of OpenUI5; I hope that just bringing them up in the decision process does not cause a “penalty”):
- 1100 followers on Twitter (https://twitter.com/OpenUI5)
- >2100 code commits on GitHub within the last two months (ten times more active than the most popular similar toolkits I checked)
- Thousands of discussions in the online forum: http://scn.sap.com/community/developer-center/front-end/content
- Presence in technology conferences, including presentations done by third parties not involved with SAP or OpenUI5:
- (Would presentations of well-known companies mentioning their usage of UI5 be of interest? Or Google Trends popularity in comparison to other Wikipedia-listed JS libraries?)
So do these sources help confirming notability? In case they are not sufficient please help me understand what kind of other sources would be needed to decide. Thank you very much for your effort! Akudev (talk)(COI) 21:12, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

- Thanks. Sorry, I didn't find the time to address this before. Based on articles on ZDNet, The News Stack and Web & Mobile magazine, I think notability is established.
- I appreciate your enthusiasm, but all that's needed for notability is to list a few good sources (having substantial coverage about OpenUI5). What you've done is list tons of articles that mention OpenUI just once or not even that, so you made that more difficult than it needs to be. But NP, it's done now. :) -- intgr [talk] 01:05, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
- Ooops, sorry for causing additional effort! Those sources that "not even mention OpenUI5" might be ones mentioning "SAPUI5"? My fault: I should have made clear that both are technically two names for pretty much the same thing. (OpenUI5 should be the more relevant term for Wikipedia users, though, so this article is at the correct location.) I couldn't really estimate how many sources would be required, so that's why I listed many, to be on the safe side. Too many, obviously. But good that you see notability as established, I really appreciate your effort, thank you! Should I move this section to a sub-page of this talk page (and reference it from a very brief section) or clean it up in some other way? My article extension suggestion above is now the main talk topic. (whoever reviews it, take your time) Akudev (talk)(COI) 07:53, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
