Paid editing?
editI proposed this page for speedy deletion as most of the page was contributed by an account with then name Ulrike Bernhard. (see Special:Contributions/Ulrike_Bernhard. This may be an account of a person who goes by that name who worked for Bureau N (see here) Bureau N are a PR company who have Opera Village Africa as a client. (see here. I hope the respective people will clarify whether they have been involved in this.Leutha (talk) 21:03, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
- I removed the speedy deletion tag, but a rewrite would be helpful. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 21:36, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
- Another editor has now (quite rightly) whacked out virtually all of the fluff, although it still needs some more work. When I first encountered this article (it erroneously showed up on the bot listing for new opera articles), I tagged it as {{news release}} and suspected that it had been copied from somewhere. But after a web search, I became convinced that it was probably "custom written" for Wikipedia by someone associated with this organization. Having said that, paid editing is not grounds for deletion per se, at least under current policy. The German Wikipedia article (de:Operndorf Afrika) lists several articles from Der Spiegel, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung covering the project, and it appears to have been the subject of a German documentary. Thanks for your work on this. I agree that the project is notable and am glad that suitable changes have been made.Leutha (talk) 10:14, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
