Merger proposal discussion happening on another page
editThe following is a merge proposal I made that effects this page. Discussion is happing at the following link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:2014_American-led_intervention_in_Iraq#Merger_proposal
I propose that 2014 American-led intervention in Iraq, American-led intervention in Syria, and Operation Inherent Resolve be merged into a new page called American-led intervention against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. I think America is seeing Iraq and Syria as part of one operation. This can be seen with the operation title given to it and the fact they set up a new HQ that deals with both states under one command. (See:Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve). I think this reflects the reality of US led operations and would be more informative for the reader. I also think you can drop "2014" as it is not needed and some events predate 2014. You also don't need "military" as there will be other types of intervention.
Question
editWhat base are the F-22s using? Are they using in flight refueling to extend their range?
Assets
editWould the addition of which units are participating or have taken park in this operation be beneficial to this article? Gavbadger (talk) 17:43, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
Some kind of grammar issue
edit"Unlike their coalition partners, and unlike previous combat operations, no name was initially given to the conflict against ISIL by the U.S. government." The "unlike"s seem to be dangling here, and in different ways: it is the U.S. government that is "unlike [its] coalition partners", but it is the failure to give a name to the conflict that is "unlike previous combat operations". Suggestions to clean up? Equinox (talk) 14:26, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
USAF units
editwhy no usaf units listed? = User:Phd8511
- Because they are in the Military intervention against ISIL order of battle article, eventually all the units will be moving over there but I started the USAF first because the locations and timing when they were in theatre was easier to find. Their is a link at the top of the assets section. Gavbadger (talk) 12:26, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
Current Eastern Mediterranean carrier group..

Ongoing?

Aircraft listing
editIs it really necessary to state almost every combat aircraft in the entire U.S. Military? Nir Koren (talk) 13:47, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
