Borders

edit

@Solavirum: In the Background section, the sentence goes "The region is bordered by Vardenis in Armenia in the west, Dashkasan, Goygol, and Goranboy in the north, Mardakert, known to Azerbaijanis as Aghdara, and Tartar in the north-east, Khojaly in the east, and Lachin in the south."

This seems odd since the sentence seems to refer to both the Soviet-era Kalbajar District, which bordered Soviet-era Mardakert District and the post-1992 Kalbajar District which bordered the new Tartar and Khojaly district. So there needs to be a clarification on which era's district borders we're using. — CuriousGolden (T·C) 09:17, 10 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

CuriousGolden, that's a good catch. The sources I was using didn't clarified that, and I just got carried away with it. I agree that it will be more appropriate to define the region's boundries with pre-war administrative divisions. --► Sincerely: SolaVirum 09:24, 10 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Solavirum, technically since the operation happened in 1993, the NKAO was already abolished and Kalbajar did border Tartar and Khojaly. But I'd personally choose the Soviet-era one since it was still the most relevant division. — CuriousGolden (T·C) 09:30, 10 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
CuriousGolden, I believe the background for Kalbajar is dedicated the region's overall description, though I can create a note with {{efn}} to clarify the district's post-conflict boundaries, while preserving the description of its original boundaries in the general text. --► Sincerely: SolaVirum 09:33, 10 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Solavirum, yes that'd be great. — CuriousGolden (T·C) 09:35, 10 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
