Merge of Archimedean ordered vector space
editUp front, I understand zip about the subject matter. But from what I can gather from the description and extent of the material, Archimedean ordered vector space is a special case of an ordered vector space with a distinction that does not require more than one sentence to state. There seems to be no reason to shift that to a separate article, and to keep readers hopping around multiple locations rather than find it treated here. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 20:21, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- The fact that this article is currently short does not mean that there is not a lot to say about such spaces. They are, for instance, pivotal in characterizing finite-dimensional vector lattices. I haven't yet put a lot of information about them into the article but due to the importance of this property to the theory of ordered vector spaces, over time the article will inevitably grow.Mgkrupa (talk) 14:14, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
- Closing, given the uncontested objection. Klbrain (talk) 11:41, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
Complex ordered vector spaces
editI think we should also cover the case where the base field is the complex numbers C. See e.g. Topological Vector Spaces by Schaefer (2012) (Chapter V, Section 2). See also Talk:Riesz space#Complex Riesz spaces. Thatsme314 (talk) 19:14, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
