Since Joachim Bresseel, who revalidated Orestes subcylindricus together with Jerome Constant in 2018, announced from a congress in Brussels in 2023 that he was wrong in identifying the animals from the Cúc Phương National Park as Orestes subcylindricus, the article must be revised with regard to characteristics, occurrence, lifestyle and systematic classification. Bresseel only rediscovered the actual Orestes subcylindricus in 2021 at the type locality of the species in Mau Son. Bank et al. already showed in 2021 that the animals from the Tay Yen Tu Nature Reserve are not animals that are identical to those from Cúc Phương (see sources of the article). The revision is only possible once a corresponding publication is available. The images have already been adjusted in August 2024.
