editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Orlando Eye. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}

The result of the move request was: moved. to The Wheel at ICON Park. (non-admin closure) Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 04:12, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
The Wheel at ICON Park Orlando → ? – I'm proposing changing the name to either just The Wheel at ICON Park or The Wheel (ride). The official website first refers to the ride as "The Wheel at ICON Park Orlando," then "The Wheel at ICON Park".
Secondary sources refer to the ride as either "The Wheel at ICON Park" ([1], [2], [3]), while other sources refer to the ride as just "The Wheel" ([4], [5], [6]), or the both the shortened and full names interchangeably ([7]), but not "The Wheel at ICON Park Orlando" (sources say "The Wheel at ICON Park in Orlando"). The Wheel at Icon Park → Orlando Eye – Corporate name change of attraction as of March 25, 2024 to The Orlando Eye by Merlin Entertainments (https://www.merlinentertainments.biz/our-brands/gateway-attractions/)+S25843 (talk) 13:37, 25 March 2024 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). microbiologyMarcus [petri dish·growths] 12:46, 26 March 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. – robertsky (talk) 15:00, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- Note: a minor improvement was made to the current title, and this request has been altered to reflect that change: ICON → Icon. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 02:50, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- Weak support: That was the original name of the wheel when it opened in 2015. The current title contains all-caps for "ICON" that are contrary to Wikipedia guidelines and thus is the subject of an RM at Talk:ICON Park#Requested move 25 March 2024. The company that now owns the wheel also owns the London Eye (and the Sydney Tower Eye and the Blackpool Tower Eye). That company was the original owner of this wheel. They sold it in 2018 and have now repurchased it and are switching it back to its prior name. The only reason I say "weak" is that we haven't waited for it to be clear that this will be the common name, although I suspect it will, and it seems like a more natural name than the current article title does. — BarrelProof (talk) 21:44, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
- The new name is "The Orlando Eye" not "Orlando Eye" per the attraction's website https://www.theorlandoeye.com/ 108.198.144.121 (talk) 01:03, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
- I think it is a bit early to tell whether independent reliable sources are likely to consider the "The" as an important part of the name. It appears that they do not for the London Eye and did not in the past when this article was named Orlando Eye. — BarrelProof (talk) 16:46, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
- I noticed on their website they want people to use the hashtag
#TheOrlandoEye
for tagging them. – The Grid (talk) 14:25, 2 April 2024 (UTC)- Wikipedia often omits "The" from article titles, even when owners include it. Wikipedia focuses on what independent reliable sources do, not what the owner wants. — BarrelProof (talk) 16:49, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
