Name
editAnd the origin of the name is.......?
- Being there when the name was created, it was a play on 'Oregon' and the typical convention suffix '-con'. The 'y' just looked better than 'Orecon'. CFLeon 03:16, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
First Orycon
editThe first Orycon proper was actually in 1979. In 1978, we had a one-day event at PSU which never had a formal name; we just called it 'The Symposium'. Much later, people jokingly started called it 'Orycon 0', but it never was called that at the time. The name 'Orycon' was created sometime in the Spring of 1979. CFLeon 03:20, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
