The result of the move request was: Withdrawn by nominator. bd2412 T 23:37, 13 May 2019 (UTC)
Struthio → Ostrich – Per the discussion at Talk:Common ostrich#Requested move 15 September 2018. This would place both birds known as "ostrich" at that name. bd2412 T 17:35, 13 May 2019 (UTC)
- Support. It makes sense having both species of ostrich together under a single article named "ostrich". Rreagan007 (talk) 18:16, 13 May 2019 (UTC)
- Support per common name. Randy Kryn (talk) 19:44, 13 May 2019 (UTC)
- Malformed request: The proposed destination name is already occupied by an article, and the nominator hasn't suggested what to do about that. —BarrelProof (talk) 22:44, 13 May 2019 (UTC)
- @BarrelProof: - you are right. I was thrown off by the fact that Ostriches redirects to Common ostrich. It didn't occur to me that Ostrich was not also a redirect to the same page. That's a separate problem. bd2412 T 23:37, 13 May 2019 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Consensus to move, currently in process. buidhe 05:57, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
– Per previous discussions, and WP:COMMONNAME. Hemiauchenia (talk) 14:12, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support Struthionidae has one extant genus (Struthio) and three known extinct genera. The content from the family article can be copy-pasted here afterward. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 17:39, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support Rreagan007 (talk) 18:39, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
- Comment. The current article Struthio is a terrible place for someone searching ostrich to end up. Srnec (talk) 03:51, 19 April 2020 (UTC)
- I agree, but the same thing could be said for the current ostrich article, hopefully reducing the scope will encourage other users to improve it. Hemiauchenia (talk) 10:21, 19 April 2020 (UTC)
QualifiedSupportBoth articles are rather bare though and I have doubts whether Common ostrich isn't a better primary article for "Ostrich". Only one kind of ostrich is extant; there is no "rare ostrich" and rheas are not usually called ostriches. Struthionidae and Struthio need their own articles as they're concepts different from The Ostrich, as usually referred to, and do not have alternative names.GPinkerton (talk) 05:17, 19 April 2020 (UTC) Edit: Was behind the times on taxonomy of the Somali ostrich. Full support. GPinkerton (talk) 05:23, 19 April 2020 (UTC)- Support per nom. ~ HAL333 06:38, 20 April 2020 (UTC)

Fix grammatical errors in intro paragraph
edit"They are farmed worldwide, with significant industies in the Philippines, and Namibia ." -> "They are farmed worldwide, with significant industries in the Philippines, and Namibia."
Note I've fixed "industies" -> "industries" and deleted the extra space between "Namibia" and the period. GreenDevolution (talk) 00:05, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
- Done Thanks User:GreenDevolution for catching that and reporting. I also removed a stray comma. This new content is interesting, User:Carbon Caryatid, but needs citations as it does not summarize any content of the article body. DMacks (talk) 11:25, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
