Is the section on his death supposed to read "Locals were allowed to pick his body." (as it now does) or "Locals were allowed to pick up his body." ??? Justinleif00:28, 9 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
The death sentence early November at daybreak, when in Tarnow and Dębicy and Machowa, the last shots could be heard from the already retreating German front. Obviously some friends of his, or even the commandant, from the campaign must have informed the family in Vienna. His mother wrote a pleading letter to the command for mercy for son. Unfortunately, letter came after the death sentence was carried out. ... An order came to bury the body in some nearby cemetery. Therefore, the body was exhumed and concealed to a cemetery in Machowa.
