The result of the move request was: Move. Cúchullain t/c 21:20, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
Ottoman period in the history of Albania → Ottoman Albania – Per WP:NAMINGCRITERIA.
The proposed name would better meet all five criteria, particularly consistency with other articles about "Ottoman xyz" (Category:History of the Ottoman Empire by region). Current name (and few other names) are result of unilateral move by PANONIAN (diff) performed without gaining consensus first and contrary to the opposition of many (if not all) editors who participated in the related discussions. - Move it to something else. The current title is clumsy and seems almost like a calque (and also exists in the form of Ottoman era in the history of Bulgaria, Ottoman period in the history of Kosovo, and Ottoman era in the history of Saudi Arabia). The article was stable at History of Ottoman Albania for years. — AjaxSmack 01:21, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
- Bulgarian case (diff) and Kosovo case (diff) are also results of PANONIAN's edits. "History of Ottoman XYZ" is much better name than existing form ("Ottoman period in the history of XYZ"). Still, I think that "Ottoman XYZ" is better than "History of Ottoman XYZ" because it better corresponds with WP:NAMINGCRITERIA.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 06:30, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
- Rename per nom. The current title is overly verbose. Dimadick (talk) 22:56, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
- Support The Ottoman Foo titles are sufficient. We really only need to bring "history" into the title if we're dealing with a spinoff (e.g. United States and History of the United States). It's unnecessary simply to signal that we're talking about a former state. We all know there are no more Ottoman states out there. --BDD (talk) 18:23, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
- Strong support All the "Ottoman period in the history of XX" articles should be renamed to "Ottoman X". This will need an admin, I think. --Macrakis (talk) 19:13, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
- A small adjustment -- when there is a more appropriate name for a region than the modern country's name, we should use the regional name, e.g. "Ottoman Arabia" and not "Ottoman Saudi Arabia", "Ottoman Palestine" and not "Ottoman Israel and Jordan", "Ottoman Syria" (which refers to the region of Greater Syria, not the modern country) and not "Ottoman Lebanon and Syria". --Macrakis (talk) 19:25, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
- Agreed. We should avoid anachronisms. --BDD (talk) 19:35, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
- Support per above. "Ottoman Albania" conveys the same information as "Ottoman period in the history of Albania". Of course it is history, and of course it represents a certain period of time. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 05:10, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
- Support – The proposed title is simpler and represents the same topic. --Article editor (talk) 17:30, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

Anti-discrimination
editSome editors are disturbed of the Ottomans being called Turks, but not of 'Tamerlane killed the Turks' absolute ruler'. Interesting. --Why should I have a User Name? (talk) 14:21, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
