editwhy switch to "Oulu Province"?
- in articles like Regions of Finland and Regions of Oulu the thing is called "Oulu Province"
- at regional pages e.g. Regions of Oulu districts are called "XY District" thus, "Oulu Province" is more in line with this
- Counties of Sweden and Counties of Estonia are uppercase, thus "Oulu Province" is more in line with that
- articles for the Regional Councils are thougt to be uppercase, thus "Oulu Province" is more in line with this
- last but not least see : Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject Subnational entities
hoping this is the best solution

- The many references in Wikipedia articles to "Oulu Province", and a couple of similar cases, has irked me since I first discovered this site, but not enough to get me to raise to my feet and change these references to Province of Oulu that is the translation chosen by governmental agencies. (A reason was that User:Jniemenmaa, whos judgement ought to be as good as anyone else's, had written many of these texts.)
- However, it's quite another thing to move this very article to a name that to my language ear appears directly wrong. A Google test also reveals that beside Wikipedia-references, "Oulu Province" in nominative is the least common name in English texts. The arguments above doesn't convince me. I had expected more from Wikipedia than from English language overviews where Finland is included only for the sake of completeness. This has a taint of arrogance, unfortunately.
