Talk:Outline of animal species and subspecies

Inclusion criteria

Per the lede: "an article that will contain animal species, subspecies, and subspecies breeds. It will also contain some traits and facts about animals, and will show lists for more information." Even if this list was limited to Vertebrates rather than all animals, that is still 58,000 species and many more "breeds". How is this list distinct from, say, Outline of zoology or Lists of animals? Yes, there is now way we're going to fit all 1,000,000+ animal species in one article. This should be deleted. Ucucha (talk) 00:53, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

I would agree, WOW an noble task however very unworkable and likely never to be achieved. Jimbo Wales would murder us...that article would take weeks to load if completed. ZooPro 02:44, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

I just changed it to a redirect to Outline of zoology, let's see if it anyone objects. The information on the page is still in the history and I do not see any real need for the article to be deleted, as the content can be merged to various locations elsewhere.
