Talk:Outlook club

First of all I am new to Wilkipedia, and I'm afraid I don't find it very easy to use!

I recently edited the Rolling Stones entry with information about their first booking out of Greater London on their first UK tour in 1963 which was at The Outlook Club in Middlesbrough, my hometown. I feel this is a worthy entry. I then created an entry for the Outlook Club with an internal link from the Rolling Stones entry.

I now find that the Outlook Club entry is to be deleted . . . . . I don't think it shoud be because it is not abusive and is under construction. I have a newspaper advertisment that I would like to add to this item (proving that the Stones played there on that night) but I am not sure how to do it. I have had permission to include it providing I give the newspaper a credit, which I will.

The reason I want to include information about the Rolling Stones first booking out of Greater London is that Bill Wyman is adament that this gig was at a club called the Alcove. There never was a club in Middlesbrough of that name, and as I said earlier I can PROVE the gig was at the Outlook!

PLEASE DO NOT DELETE THE OUTLOOK CLUB ENTRY

I'm not doubting the club's existence or disputing its place in the history of the Stones, but it's just that as an encyclopedia, the information in the article needs to be verifiable from multiple references to reliable sources. As it stands, I just didn't think that the article as written demonstrated that the club meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines. I honestly don't know where the advertisement would fit into this, but it would help if you could find news or magazine articles about the club (they don't need to be online as long as they are cited properly).
I've removed the PROD tag from the article, under which the article was eligible for immediate deletion, as it had been in place for five days. I have instead sent the article to the more formal Articles for Deletion process, which will allow it to be evaluated by a wider spectrum of administrators and experienced editors. The discussion page for this article can be found here at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Outlook club, and you are absolutely free to provide your input there. Discussions normally last for five days, though they can be longer or shorter based on the strength of consensus or lack thereof, or on other factors. Please note that this is not a vote, but an attempt to reach a consensus on whether to keep the article, delete it, or a variety of other options.
Please follow the links I've provided above to learn more about Wikipedia's policies and procedures, and feel free to come to me if you have further questions. Thank you for your time, and take care. --Finngall talk 21:45, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello Finngall, I really don't know where I could find any news or magaizine articles about the Outlook Club, it's so long ago, only the newspaper advertisment! I also don't know how I could verify the clubs existance from multiple references . . . . I only wish I could.
