Gas solution in liquid

edit

Is there one meaning of OTR missing or is it named otherwise? I was looking for the transport rate of gases into a liquid. I have learned that

is, where C is actual solved concentration and C* the maximal possible concentration (in case of OTR it's the concentration of oxygen of course). The factor k_La depends on (for example) agitation, gas flow and must be experimentally determined. This is the notation used in Germany, but I am not aware of a correct translation if this would be a complete different term.Flynx (talk) 13:41, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

I have seen that k_La ist sometimes called volumetric oxygen transfer coefficient (when refering to oxygen), but this seems to be an exact translation of the German technical term, so I am still not sure ... and there's no article in wiki regarding that term as well.
