Decade-old merge proposal
editDuplicate entry to another fuller entry. Better spelling for main article to be moved here from P funk.
This page needs to be wikified. And factualized. And POVified. Or at least a good part of that. El Chupanibre
Are there really no synonyms for the term "key disciple"?
power to P funk
- I agree, hopefully tagging the article with Clean Up will attract some attention. Waqcku 23:53, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
I Don't Even Know Where to Begin
editThis article is a total disaster. P-Funk is the name of the band led for many years by George Clinton. It's not that complicated, really (aside from the fact that, for contractual reasons, they released most of their albums as "Parliament" or "Funkadelic" and they spawned a myriad of spinoffs, side projects, etc.) Timothy Horrigan (talk)
- Parliament-Funkadelic was actually called p-funk? That's news to me, and probably very many other people. Cite?
- As a music style, I don't think p-funk should be capitalised. Also, it needs to be made clear that it is a style of music that is performed by people outside of George Clinton and his crew. -- Centrepull (talk) 09:23, 5 April 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, P-Funk is an abbreviation for Parliament-Funkadelic, like Led Zep is to Led Zeppelin. Morganfitzp (talk) 18:57, 31 January 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose merge. Reading around the pages it seems that there is a consist use of p-funk for the style and Psychedelic funk for the group. That there is more than one group that has the same style can be seen by looking at Category:P-Funk groups. As the style is not synonymous with the group, they should be kept separate. There are also number objections to a range of such merge proposals over the last decade over at Talk:Parliament-Funkadelic. Klbrain (talk) 23:21, 15 May 2017 (UTC)
