E3+3, E3/EU +3 and P5+1

edit

The article does not explain why a non-permanent member (Germany) was involved in the talks. Twobells (talk) 18:35, 21 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Germany is the key trading partner of Iran. Details are added. Devgowri (talk) 12:31, 19 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

thanks for the clarification. Twobells (talk) 09:19, 9 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

This explanation is all wrong. The talks were originally between the E3 or EU3 (Germany, France, UK) and Iran. The other three members of the P5 joined later. The group is sometimes known as the E3+3 rather than P5+1. NPguy (talk) 03:27, 20 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. "E3/EU +3" when the EU High Representative chairs or negotiates for the group. My recollection is that the official documents use E3+3 or E3/EU+3 in their text, rather than P5+1. The "Role of Germany" section in the article seems wrong or irrelevant, and I think it should be deleted. Rwendland (talk) 11:55, 20 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Agreed. Section deleted. NPguy (talk) 16:40, 25 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

2013 agreement

edit

Contrary to what the article states, nothing has been signed during the Geneva meetings. Actually, the deal is not even operational. I am not an expert, but I would ask a such one for appropriate revision.

Merger proposal

edit

There are three articles dealing with the same topic, the negotiations between Iran and six leading countries over Iran's nuclear program. In addition to this article, they are Geneva interim agreement on Iranian nuclear program and the new one Comprehensive agreement on Iranian nuclear program. The division is confusing and seems unnecessary. I believe they should be merged into a single article. NPguy (talk) 17:35, 23 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
