Regarding "Future versions of the standard will change the revision number at the end - but 1.0 is the only version currently in use.", this may be true according to the specs but in practice there hasn't been a new version in over fifteen years. Bitplane 16:07, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
The picture of David does not in any way illustrate the use of the PLY file format or the polygons that they represent. A much better illustration would be the stanford bunny. 94.159.255.214 (talk) 07:42, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
I was using this article to write a simple PLY file format generator. Is there a reference specification somewhere? It seems like all PLY files on the web use "vertex_indices" rather than "vertex_index" in specifying faces, so I suspect that's what the spec says. If anyone can point me to that spec, I'll update the article. --Saforrest (talk) 04:49, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
