Is image mis-identified

edit

The image used on this page is the same as that on the page for Eupodophis, another legged snake fossil. On that page it is explicitly called a fossil of Eupodophis. Can someone have a look at which animal is depicted and remove the image where it is applie wrongly? 134.100.155.7 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 10:15, 13 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I was headed here to mention the same thing. I have been working with paleontologists recently and was informed the illustration here is of a Eupodophis, not a Pachyrhachis. I will remove it then, and I am sorry to say I could not find a Pachyrhachis image on Commons...--Flor WMCH (talk) 14:34, 17 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Flor WMCH Thanks for pointing that out, this is indeed very strange. The fossil in this photo was actually described as Eupodophis in the paper, so someone should have noticed, but for several years no one took action. Anyway, I have corrected the captions for this photo in another articles. If you have a similar problem, discussing it on Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Palaeontology will get more attention than commenting on each talk pages. As an aside, this is the first time I've seen someone call photography "illustration." Ta-tea-two-te-to (talk) 16:06, 6 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
