Seattle Baseball Park Names
editIn 1896 the Seattle Yannigans/Rainmakers played at Y.M.C.A. Park. See eg https://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn83045604/1896-05-12/ed-1/seq-3/ (referred to as Y.M.C.A. grounds here; that is much less common usage in 1895-1903 Seattle PI). The park was renamed Athletic Park later in 1896, but the Y.M.C.A. name was still used as well. The prior link also supplies a possible origin of the Rainmakers name -- the writer suggests it as the team name due to two of the games in Portland getting rained out. "Yannigan" doesn't appear in the PI. At least two later articles refer to the team as the Rainmakers. Roket (talk)
1901-1902 Seattle Clamdiggers field should match that of the Rainmakers. I suggest YMCA Park, but if you keep this YMCA Field then make them match. Roket (talk) 06:44, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
