Pacific Records (disambiguation)

Should there be a disambiguation page? A previous page with this name was deleted in 2016, but had to do with two other record labels with the same name: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pacific Records. Should there be redirects (not articles) for the other labels with the same name? Robert McClenon (talk) 03:39, 3 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

I think that the Pacific Records that was active in Berkeley, California, in the late 1940s should have its own page. It was a small company, and had nothing to do with this San Diego outfit. The Rising Star Gospel Singers (with Paul Foster, later the lead tenor for the Soul Stirrers), recorded for Berkeley's Pacific Records -- and these recordings are culturally notable. Another Pacific artist was the well-known jazz guitarist and guitar-maker Nick Esposito, who, although an American, is only found in the German language Wikipedia, here: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Esposito_(Gitarrist). Examples of the Pacific label art are viewable here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLj57_HkEA2N2qfOiQiaZoYza6QGzTMh8j. More on Nick Esposito can be found with a simple google search of his name, including broadcasts featuring him on KPIX-TV and this biographical tribute page about his invention of the adjustable bridge and the double-cutaway guitar: https://www.dickeliot.com/nick-esposito-tribute.html. Someone ought to write a Nick Esposito page in the English-language Wikipedia ... but that's another story. Catherineyronwode (talk) 19:17, 4 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
