Inaccurate and outdated information
editThis edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
I am an employee of the PSC Secretariat, much of the information posted here is incorrect.
The PSC was founded in 1985. The IPSFC was founded in 1937 and dissolved in 1985.
The PSC has 5 panels: the Northern Panel, the Southern Panel, the Yukon River Panel, the Fraser River Panel, and the Transboundary Panel. All of this information is posted on our website: http://www.psc.org/about-us/structure/panels/
I think there should be a separate article on the IPSFC along with its history and dissolution.
Much of that history is available on our website: http://www.psc.org/about-us/history-purpose/our-history/
We are also willing to make the photos on our website freely available on Wikipedia if needed.
Our librarian has put together the following information: https://psconline-my.sharepoint.com/personal/son_psc_org/_layouts/15/guestaccess.aspx?docid=034e35bdd396243d0ac7115afb6d15032&authkey=AcCNtypqU86VvGqmVSvfXws
As Wikipedia frowns upon us editing the article ourselves, I hope the information in this document can guide someone in updating the article with correct information.
Thanks,
John
- Hi John, and thanks for your suggestions. As for the founding dates, doesn't the article state that already? I have corrected the note on the five panels. As to edits about the history, it is up to you to suggest specific edits. Since the edit request queue has a backlog of over 0 entries, requests that provide specific changes or additions will receive priority over general requests for updates. As for photos, we would be happy to accept image donations provided that they are freely licensed, i.e. compatible with Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License. If you are donating images that have never been published anywhere (including on the Web), then you may make a request at Files for Upload. If the images you wish to donate have been published elsewhere already, there is an additional step. Read the instructions at commons:OTRS and send an email from an organization account confirming that Wikipedia is granted the free license to use the images. Hope this helps.
