A fact from Pacifica Forum appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 30 May 2009 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:

I just deleted a section talking about how the Oregon Commentator - one of the publications to break the Pacifica Forum story - has ties to Nazi groups. As someone who has worked in the journalism community of the University of Oregon for years now, I know this to be blatantly false, as the Oregon Commentator, though not exactly a shining beacon of journalistic integrity, is a libertarian magazine with an active hatred of Nazism. I'm also familiar with its founding, and it was not founded by Nazis.
Additionally, the source the author cited was broken, and no article on the Pacifica Forum controversy found on the Register-Guard website supports the author's claim. It seems very clear that this section was added in an attempt to either smear the Oregon Commentator, discredit their critique of the Pacifica Forum, or both. I reverted the article back to past when that was added. Sorry it was in there for so long. I'm no fan of the Commentator (I'm an Emerald alum) but they're not Nazis. Valfontis (talk) 21:00, 9 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Someone reverted the removal of this before by claiming it was sourced, but a quick look at the page history shows the info was shoehorned into the previous ref. (Note even if the link is broken the ref is still OK for what it originally backed up. Sources don't have to be online. And I verified the refs myself several years ago.
