Packet ships were more than vessels trading between Great Britain and its colonies. See Black Ball Line (trans-Atlantic packet), for example. Does the type not include any vessel engaged in transoceanic and short-sea package service? This article needs to be expanded, as it addresses only one use of such vessels. I have added, I hope not to the confusion, by starting an article Post Office Packet Service and a category Category:Packet (Sea Transport). The new category separates articles on sea tranport from the myriad articles on packet technology in data tramsmission. The article covers the UK Post Office Service but not in any great detail. --Vernon White . . . Talk 23:58, 29 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Just a quick note: regular, non-proper nouns such as "sea transport" should not be capitalized in an article or category name, per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (categories). Maralia 00:18, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
As suggested, everything that was in Category:Packet (Sea Transport) is now in Category:Packet (sea transport). --Vernon White . . . Talk 10:09, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
