Unsourced infobox/categories

edit

Miles is not an aritst. She simply said she likes to color, just like children do, that does not make her an artist by any stretch of the imagination. Unless there is a reliable source saying she is a colorist as in a comics professional, then the occupation should not be in the infobox and the artist categories should not be in the article. Likewise there is no source for her being a pop rock singer and the genre should be listed as the general pop music for being on American Idol. Aspects (talk) 00:11, 22 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

The recent edits, [1], the MTV profile does not confirm the pop rock genre, soul genre or that she is a professional colorist. The colorist is the most ridiculous because she simply colors in coloring books. Aspects (talk) 01:03, 22 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
There is a better source for the "rock" genre but I can't find it. The lead paragraph in the MTV one mentions rock and soul. She is not a "professional colorist" but what she does fits the description of "coloring black & white artwork".--Banananana88 (talk) 01:15, 22 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Quote from MTV: "...thanks to genre-bending performances that fuse rock songs with a rich soul voice.".--Banananana88 (talk) 01:18, 22 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

(outdent)The MTV article no where states "pop rock" so that genre should not be used having "a rich soul voice" does not necessarily mean you sing soul music.

As for the coloring, I cannot believe you are forwarding such a ridiculous position. She likes to color in coloring books, if that makes someone a colorist or an artist then nearly every person on earth is one because they have colored at some point in their life. A colorsist is someone who works in comics/comic books that colors the fields after the outlines have been drawn. The infobox field is "Occupation". Her occupation is not a colorsist and it should not be listed in the infobox as such. Aspects (talk) 01:38, 22 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fine, I intended that to be a joke. As for her genre, let's leave it blank for a while.--Banananana88 (talk) 02:51, 22 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

(outdent)Along the same lines, I am going to delete the information about her being an actor. Being in a couple of school plays/musicals does not make one a professional actress. Aspects (talk) 12:17, 24 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Unaired audition/first solo?

edit

I am going to change the audition/first solo to say unaired because they were not aired and we seem to be having an edit war whether the audition was "Defying Gravity" or "Freedom" and whether the first solo was "Tik Tok" or "Release Me"? One of each of these can easily be added back with a reliable source. Aspects (talk) 01:58, 6 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Of course, now that I changed it with a discussion started here the same anon user changed the audition song to "On My Own" and the first solo to "Kiss Kiss", so I think leaving them as unaired is the right way to go. Aspects (talk) 17:54, 6 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
