Opposition to merger
edit- Oppose: Russia and Soviet Union are same. Today's Russia is completely different from what Soviet Union was in 20th Century. Furthermore, Russia's policy towards Pakistan is much more friendly and maintains an alliance with the state, as it can be seen in news articles.
Soviet Union had aggressive policy towards Pakistan in 20th century and was an adversary of Pakistan since Pakistan's establishment in 1947. Please, do not merge this page to Russia, instead a new page needs to be form that exclusively for "Soviet-Pakistan relations". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.0.23.216 (talk) 01:53, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
hostility
editNo mention of USSRs support of India and Pakistan's support for the Afghan mujahideen against soviet forces. Pakistan's alliance with China and America, both Soviet adversaries. Article missing too many details. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.253.218.203 (talk) 02:53, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
Copy and paste from Pakistan–Russia relations
editThis page was created in July 2012, apparently as a result of the removal/copying of text from Pakistan–Russia relations per this edit. 220 of Borg 14:02, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
Afghan war
editThis article clearly needs more material on Pakistani involvement in the war in Afghanistan, that if anything is the most salient feature of Pakistani-Soviet relations. --Soman (talk) 16:21, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
