editShouldn't something be said about more recent treatments of Palamedes? Some are quite racist. In T H White he speaks with a silly accent; in one 1950s film he's a villain plotting to bring down Arthur out of a hatred of Christianity. It's interesting that the medieval romancers managed in this case to be more tolerant than people only a couple of generations removed from us.
