other versions

edit

The "other versions" section lacks references. I know Bonfantes views in e.g "The origins of the Palestinoi" etc but I am not sure about Georgiev using the term "Pelasg". Generally, I suspect that the English of his supposed comment is not from Georgiev himself. Can someone check this and put a reference? Fkitselis (talk) 14:30, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I saw that Aigest has added a reference to what Georgiev has said, but this should be temporary. We need the real reference on Georgiev's work in order to be correct. I have seen in the past people commenting others work and giving false views on what they actually wrote. Not to mention cases when wannabe academics put quotes never mentioned by anyone. In any case, thank you Aigest. If you can find the primary source for the comment then we should consider that section complete. Fkitselis (talk) 07:26, 16 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
I saw that you have acted meanwhile, so I should thank you on that. Nice;) Aigest (talk) 10:17, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Bad source

edit

There's a short citation in the form <ref>{{harvp|Skënder|Korkuti|1969}}.</ref> but there is no such corresponding full source citation anywhere in the article. Either it was wrongly removed, or the short citation was copy-pasted from some article without the full citation to go along with it, or it's just noise someone injected as a prank.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  11:46, 14 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Pan-Illyrian theoriesPan-Illyrian hypotheses – Misnomer. "Theory" and "hypothesis" are not synonyms in fields like this, and none of these hypotheses rose to the level of theories before being discarded. Also, to be WP:CONSISTENT with other articles of this sort, e.g. Vasconic substrate hypothesis, Germanic substrate hypothesis, etc.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  12:38, 14 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

  • Support per nom. Most of the sources are not in English, which makes a "follow the sources" argument difficult. Other abandoned linguistics hypotheses are titled as such, this one should be as well. Walsh90210 (talk) 19:41, 15 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
